Where to recycle/dispose alkaline batteries?

All single-use batteries must be recycled or taken to a household hazardous waste disposal facility, a universal waste handler (e.g., storage facility or broker), or an authorized recycling facility. Voniko can provide battery packaging material certified by FSC with 2 kinds of certification logos standing respectively for 100% recycled materials and FSC-certified and/or FSC-controlled wood.

FSC RECYCLED

The product is made from 100 per cent recycled materials. Using recycled material makes the most of precious forest resources and reduces the pressure to harvest more trees.
FSC MIX

The product is made with a mixture of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials, and/or FSC-controlled wood. While controlled wood doesn’t come from FSC-certified forests, it mitigates the risk of the material originating from unacceptable sources.

SAY NO TO PLASTICS

Plastic cause many minor and major ecological and environmental issues. Many plastics end up on streets and subsequently pollute major water sources, rivers, and streams. Even when disposed of properly, they take many years to decompose and break down, generating large amounts of garbage over long periods of time. Improperly discarded plastics have polluted waterways, clogged sewers and been found in oceans, affecting the ecosystem of marine creatures. The UN estimates that there will be more plastics than fish in the oceans by 2050 unless countries comes up with urgent measures to promote efficient production, use and waste management of plastics throughout their life cycles.

Not only focused on environmentally friendly packaging, Voniko battery is also concentrated on the whole product life cycle that is green and healthy to the environment.

In year 2021, Voniko battery succeeded in obtaining the Certificate of Nordic ecolabelling. It has strict standards on battery raw materials, production, packaging as well as the battery performance.

CERTIFIED BY SWAN LABEL, IT MEANS VONIKO BATTERY

- Mercury, Cadmium and Lead free
- The total proportion of pre- and post-consumer recycled material in the primary packaging is at least 80% by weight.
- Has strict waste plan for the discarded batteries and semi-manufactured batteries
- Pass a much stricter performance test standard than regular IEC standard. Better than batteries without Nordic ecolabelling certification.
